Power points and safety switches
There are different types of Safety Switches. The Safety Switch used in the main switchboard. Power point Safety Switches and even portable Safety Switches. Switchboard and power point Safety Switches must be installed by a licensed electrician. Fuses and Circuit Breakers protect against short circuits and current overloads, but only Safety Switches protect people from electric shock. They do not however prevent all electic shocks - they are a back-up only. They may not protect all wiring and electrical appliances. More info on Safety Switches.
